All roles: the common core

Everyone does the Core Learning Journey (Sessions 1–9 + labs). It is deliberately free of deep-end complexity — capacity planning, Oak clustering and edge-compute live in Enterprise Engineering electives.

Frontend engineer path

OrderContentWhy
1Start Here (all pages)Mental model first
2Sessions 1–9 + labsCommon core
3Developer Reference → Frontend DevelopmentHTL deep dive, clientlibs, core components, style system
4Developer Reference → Content Modelling & DeliveryFragments and JSON delivery
5Troubleshooting Hub → component & dialog pagesThe failures you will hit first

Backend engineer path

OrderContentWhy
1Start Here, Sessions 1–9 + labsCommon core
2Developer Reference → Backend DevelopmentModels, servlets, services, jobs, testing
3Developer Reference → AEM FundamentalsConsoles, run modes, users/ACLs
4Security & GovernanceService users, least privilege
5Code ReferenceDaily snippets

Platform/DevOps path

OrderContentWhy
1Start Here, Sessions 1, 8, 9Architecture + delivery focus
2Developer Reference → Infrastructure & ArchitectureTopology, replication, dispatcher anatomy
3Enterprise Engineering → Deployment & OperationsRunbooks, monitoring, maintenance
4Security & Governance → dispatcher & TLS pagesHardening
5Electives (clustering, capacity planning)When needed

Tech lead path

Breadth-first: Start Here → all session pages (labs optional) → Enterprise Engineering landing pages → Security & Governance → Production Readiness checklists in Developer Reference.
